Membership fees help us to maintain and improve the club’s facilities, support ongoing upkeep, and ensure we can continue to provide a welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of one of our members, our pétanque court has had a fantastic makeover and is now looking better than ever.
A great deal of effort has gone into improving the court, and the result is clear to see. The surface looks excellent, the layout is much neater, and the whole area feels like a real step up from before. It is a marked improvement and a real credit to the member who has put in the time and care to get it to this standard.
Not only does it look great, but it will also make for a much better playing experience for everyone who enjoys a game of pétanque at the club.
With the summer season ahead, we are really looking forward to making the most of it and hopefully hosting some fantastic tournaments in the months to come. It is wonderful to see this area looking so smart and ready for plenty of friendly competition.

Happy New Year!! This year, we have a full itinerary at Oakwood Sunclub!
Our 2026 event calendar is packed with some great activities for everyone, and if the weather was as glorious as it was last year, it is sure to be another great season!
From our annual Open Day to festive celebrations and themed parties, there's something for everyone. Please come along if you're an existing member, and spread the word as we have our usual open day, which is an invitation to those who have not been before or are curious to try Oakwood out - We are a friendly bunch, join us for some laid back relaxation in the heart of the Essex countryside.
Note: All winter socials have a cost of ÂŁ7 per person, except for the Christmas meal, which is ÂŁ12 per person. Please let Liz know in advance if you or your guests have any dietary requirements.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the committee have reluctantly had to make the decision to cancel this event.
We would like to apologise to those that had expressed an interest in attending but this is unavoidable.
The quiz night will now take place on the 22nd March.
This year there will be two open days:

On both days there will be a  Barbecue. Prices for food will be £2.50 per item and will come with a small side salad.
There will be a small charge for visitors for tea/coffe and cake of ÂŁ5 and will be in addition to any food purchased at the Barbecue.

What is Naturism?
Naturism is the simple practice of going without clothes. The effect of fresh air and sunshine on the body makes you feel better, more relaxed and less body conscious.
Do I have to undress when I first visit?
No, we understand nervousness. Undress when you feel comfortable with the environment and your surroundings. Once you do, you’ll soon feel very relaxed and realise no-one is looking at you.
Is nudity compulsory?
Just like other people, when the weather gets cold, we put on clothes. Our indoor social events are clothed.
Do I have to be a member or British Naturism to join?
Membership of BN is not a pre-requisite to joining.
Do you allow animals within the grounds?
Well behaved pets on a lead are welcome. There is an allocated outdoor area where you can spend time with them.
Do I have to make an appointment to visit or can I just turn up?

Being a Member
We welcome applications for membership from singles, couples or families.
You might be life-long naturists or perhaps just discovered its pleasures on holiday.
The club is run and maintained by the membership. We hold monthly winter Work Sundays to keep the grounds and facilities in good order and ask that you attend as many as you can. You’ll also be asked to do one summer Sunday Warden duty each year.
Prospective applicants are asked to visit us on at least 3 occasions so that we can meet you and so you can decide if Oakwood is the club for you. The visit must take place on a Sunday or a Bank Holiday Monday. Alternative arrangements can be made in advance with the PRO.
Trial visits cost £15 per person ( over 16,) and will be deducted from your first year’s membership if you decide to join.
Yearly subscription is ÂŁ90 per person, ÂŁ180 per couple or family.
We are a day club only and have no facilities for overnight stays.
